What changed
The native asset changed its public name and ticker from Toncoin and TON to Gram and GRAM. The official TON channel reported that the community proposal passed with 81.22% support and took effect on June 15, 2026 at 12:00 UTC.
Wallets, exchanges, market feeds, and DEX interfaces may adopt the new label at different speeds. During that transition, the same native asset can appear as TON, Toncoin, GRAM, or Gram depending on the interface.
What did not change
- The blockchain remains The Open Network, abbreviated TON.
- Existing wallet addresses and native balances remain valid.
- Tokens, NFTs, staking positions, contracts, and DeFi integrations remain on the same network.
- No token swap, bridge, migration, or claim is required.
No migration means no claim transaction
A rename does not require a seed phrase, wallet export, approval, or transfer. A site that asks users to claim GRAM, bridge TON to GRAM, or migrate a wallet is not part of the official rename process.
How Gramium labels the asset
Gramium uses GRAM for the native token while retaining TON for the network and ecosystem. Where a provider still returns the previous label, Gramium may show additional context so users can recognize that the underlying asset has not changed.

TON and GRAM FAQ
Did the TON blockchain change its name?
No. The network remains The Open Network, commonly abbreviated TON. The native token name and ticker changed from Toncoin and TON to Gram and GRAM.
Do TON holders need to migrate or claim GRAM?
No. The official announcement states that no swap, bridge, claim, or migration is required. Existing balances and addresses continue to work.
Why do some wallets and data providers still show TON?
Interfaces update at different speeds. A wallet or market feed may temporarily retain the previous token label even though the underlying network asset is unchanged.
Is a TON to GRAM claim page legitimate?
No official claim is required. Treat any page asking for a seed phrase, migration transaction, or token claim as suspicious and verify it against official TON channels.
